Prime Share / Savings Accounts
Share / Savings accounts are accounts that pay interest but cannot be used directly as money (for example, by writing a check). These accounts let customers set aside a portion of their liquid assets while earning a monetary return.
At ECU $25.00 in a prime share / savings account establishes and maintains your membership; once you become a member you are always a member provided a minimum balance of $25.00 is maintained in your share savings account. A Youth Prime Share Savings account is available for members under 18.
Prime Share Saving accounts have the features:
- A Prime Share account establishes and maintains your ECU Credit Union membership.
- Your accounts are insured up to $250,000 through NCUA.
- Step rates dividend rates are determined by your account balance.
- Dividends are paid quarterly based on your average daily balance.
- Required opening deposit of at least $25.00.
- Statements are issued quarterly; you may sign up for e statements through Virtual Branch or you will receive a paper statement in the mail.
- Required minimum balance $25.00 or $5.00 a month service charge.
- Make 2 withdrawals a month free of charge with a $2.00 service charge for each additional withdrawal.
- Payroll deduction is available for easy, convenient saving.
- Automatic Teller card is available for qualified members.
- You can access your account 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through the internet or by telephone.

*ECU Computes Dividends Based On The Average Daily Balance And Posts And Compounds Dividends Quarterly. The Credit Union Requires A Minimum Balance Of $25.00, Otherwise, A Monthly Service Charge Of $5.00 Is Assessed To The Account. There Is A Service Charge Of $2.00 For Each Withdrawal After The First 2 Withdrawals In A Month.
** If An Account Is Closed Before The Quarterly Posting Of Accrued Dividends, No Dividends Will Be Paid.
