About ECU Credit Union
In June 1963, employees and their families of Eckerd Drug Company and its subsidiaries formed a cooperative known as Eckerd Credit Union. Your credit union is governed by elected officials from our field of membership. These elected officers set policy as well as enforce regulations and bylaws in the operation of the credit union.
ECU Credit Union a Division of Eckerd Credit Union is a non-profit organization offering the benefit of low cost service to its members. To accomplish this purpose, your credit union operates on the basis of this objective:
The ECU Credit Union, a Division of Eckerd Credit Union, Exists to Provide Convenient Services, Value and Education to Assist Our Members in Achieving Financial Health and to Meet Their Financial Needs in a Friendly and Personal Way.
Convenient services with competitive dividends and interest rates are the prime responsibility of your credit union. Your accounts are safe with us since they are federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration.
Today ECU Credit Union membership consist primarily of employees of CVS Health and Rite Aid drug stores and their family members.
The Credit Union Difference
How is a credit union different than a bank? Credit unions are not-for-profit organizations that exist to serve their members. Like banks, credit unions accept deposits, make loans and provide a wide array of other financial services. But as member-owned and cooperative institutions, credit unions provide a safe place to save and borrow at reasonable rates.
Member Owned
Credit unions are owned and controlled by the people, or members, who use their services.
Credit unions operate to promote the well-being of their members.
Cooperative
The cooperative structure of credit unions creates a cycle of mutual assistance towards the common goal of the financial well-being of members.
Not-For-Profit
Profits made by credit unions are returned back to members in the form of reduced fees, higher savings rates and lower loan rates.
In essence, it's THEIR bank but it's YOUR Credit Union!
